2009 Bulletin Q&As (below)
What is the difference between the Virgin of Guadalupe and the Blessed Virgin Mother
Mary? Are they the same person?
From wearing the Brown Scapular, it can be pretty worn out. How “worn out” should it get
before you wear a new one? How do you dispose of the old ones?
Mark 6:3 states: “Is He not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and
Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?” Did Jesus have brothers
and sisters?
Why does the Catholic Church prohibit participation in the Masons?
We are required to bury the dead. What about when someone is cremated? Is it okay to have
the ashes in an urn in your house? What about the ash bracelets and lockets that funeral
homes now offer?
How do we get God’s grace?
I had an abortion many years ago. I have confessed my sin and really am sorry for what I had
done. But can I ever get to heaven or avoid eternal life in hell? Can this awful sin be
forgiven?
Does the number of prayers I am told to say after confession reflect how bad I have been;
(example: more prayers for mortal sins, fewer for venial sins)?
Please advise me on Reiki. Is it accepted by the Church?
“Wrong is wrong, even if everyone else is doing it. Right is right, even if no one else is doing it.” ( St. Augustine)
